Yes.
In case you are wondering if this Jenny Mowe is the Jenny Mowe, the answer is yes. I am the 6'5" basketball player formerly of the University of Oregon and the Portland Fire.
"How in the hell did you end up in Baker City baking desserts?" Good question. It all started when I met my husband in Eugene after a basketball season in China. I decided to retire from basketball due to bad hips and wanting to stay home with him, but found myself needing something fulfilling to do with my time. I was coaching a lot of basketball and managing athletic facilities, but when I got pregnant we decided to try something else. So we found ourselves in Baker City where my husband's family still lives and works.
I tried the stay at home mom thing, but found that did not suit my personality; I needed to be out and about interacting with people and creating things. I went through multiple hobbies, sewing, crafting, tossing pizzas, but nothing filled that void until I started baking. Finally everything clicked; my fastidious personality, my craving for sweets, and the community's desire for a dessert that hadn't been frozen and shipped from far off.
I started baking cheesecakes for a local restaurant and then found I couldn't keep up with everything that people wanted. So we found a space and outfitted it so I could crank out cheesecakes, cakes, cookies, muffins, brownies, brioche, and whatever else people want to order.
So far business is good and only getting better!
